All About Me
Early Life: Building Blocks & Golf Clubs
I grew up in Fayetteville, Georgia, with a nurturing older sister who kept me in line and Southern parents who were dedicated educators. Hard work wasn’t just encouraged in our household—it was expected. While other kids were playing with Barbie dolls, I was more interested in golf clubs and building blocks, unknowingly setting the foundation for my future.
My dad’s roots run deep in East Alabama, and my best childhood memories include barefoot summers in nearby Lafayette. Life took a sharp turn in 1999 when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. That challenge became a defining part of my journey, but I’ve always believed that rough waters make strong sailors.
Golf: The Journey to Auburn & Beyond
Chasing golf balls around the country paid off when I earned a scholarship to play for Auburn University. My five years on the Plains were unforgettable, playing under Hall of Fame Coach Kim Evans and winning two SEC Championships with an incredible team. I tacked on four individual titles, thanks to hard work and a creative short game.
After graduation, I earned my LPGA card, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Unfortunately, injuries cut my professional career short, forcing me to pivot. But if golf taught me anything, it’s that setbacks are just setups for what’s next.
Real Estate: From the Course to the Closing Table
Big sisters are irreplaceable, and mine, Tricia Young, is a powerhouse. She and her business partner, Nonet Reese, built an incredible team and culture at Three Sixty {real estate}, and I’m proud to hang my license with their brokerage.
Real estate has proven to be a perfect fit. The same discipline, strategy, and people skills that led me to the LPGA tour now help me guide clients through buying, selling, and investing in homes. Auburn is one big family, and I love nothing more than connecting great people with great properties. Life’s too short not to greet your neighbors with a War Damn Eagle!
Building: Crafting Homes with Purpose
The world is changing, and I love seeing traditionally male-dominated industries evolve. It only makes sense that the person who understands livability, design, and functionality should also have a hand in building homes that reflect those values.
I believe in great people, better communication, and tackling challenges head-on. My building style is driven by asking “Why?” and “Why not?” I’m not afraid to push the envelope—someone has to do it!
Community: Swinging for a Cure
Diabetes has been one of my greatest challenges, but it has also been a driving force in my life. In 2009, Auburn great Kendall Simmons and I co-founded the Swing 4 Diabetes golf tournament. Since then, we’ve raised over $400,000 for the Diabetes Center at East Alabama Medical Center. Supporting research for a cure gives me purpose, and I’m grateful to make an impact in this community I love so much.
